Biography

Thierry Hot is the current Vice President of Public Affairs at Lilium Capital, a leading advisory and investment banking firm focused on frontier markets. He is in charge of managing the firm’s relations with different stakeholders such as States, international organizations, public administrations, as well as other financial institutions.

The world of international relations, which he closely observed during his tenure as Senior Public Affairs Advisor to the President of Burkina Faso, has become the field of expression of his multiple talents, making him an appreciated interlocutor and enjoying the high confidence of leaders of the African continent and their various Western partners.

Mr. Hot has previously led a brilliant career as a journalist in renowned international media as well as a pan-African media owner, always displaying high ethical standards and rigor. From 2001 to 2014, he covered news and events of the African Union, the African Development Bank, and the United Nations, giving him exposure to development issues and public affairs. During this time, Mr. Hot was one of the presenters of the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) from 2001 to 2009 before bringing his touch to the pan-African television channel based in France, Africa 24, which he helped place high in the ratings, serving as Director of Information from 2009 to 2010.

Today, equipped with an extensive knowledge of the world affairs, Mr. Hot is a true icon of the African media sphere and is considered one of the best specialists in public relations between Africa and the European Union (EU). His ability to build economic bridges led him to create in 2014 a platform dedicated to rethinking the conditions for Africa’s socio economic growth: the “Rebranding Africa Forum”. Considered the largest economic forum dedicated to the African continent in Belgium, this assembly brings together African leaders, international experts, and investors from around the world to reflect on issues related to Africa’s development and to forge concrete partnerships.

Mr. Hot holds an MBA in Strategic Management and Competitive Intelligence from the School of Economic Warfare in Paris, France.
