Institutional Investor Network (IIN)

Connecting Capital, Catalyzing Growth in Africa

The Institutional Investor Network (IIN) is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization committed to increasing institutional investment in African markets. With a mission to foster dialogue, education, and collaboration between US institutional investors and African stakeholders, IIN addresses one of the continent’s most pressing challenges: the infrastructure funding gap.

Historically, African development has relied heavily on public sector financing, particularly through multilateral development banks (MDBs). However, as Africa’s middle class expands and infrastructure demands grow, private capital mobilization has become essential. IIN believes institutional investors hold the key to unlocking sustainable economic growth across Africa.

Key Objectives:

  • Educate US institutional investors on African investment opportunities and market dynamics
  • Inform African asset managers about the standards, requirements, and expectations of US institutional capital
  • Organize both international and domestic investor delegations to build cross-border relationships and foster firsthand market insights
  • Develop a robust, data-driven platform to support transparency and informed decision-making
  • Facilitate strategic bilateral meetings and roundtables to connect key stakeholders
  • Promote global two-way investment between Africa and the United States

IIN is playing a vital role in bridging the gap between US institutional investors and African markets. Through strategic partnerships with US and African governments, MDBs, and key African market actors, IIN is advancing a new era of impactful, sustainable investment.
